Cooper Corporation redefines technology behind Power

Cooper Corporation is a name that has long been associated with the designing, manufacturing, and distribution of automotive components, generators and engines.  With a manufacturing expertise spanning over five decades, the company that was originally known for engines and engine components has added generators in diesel and gas power variants a couple of decades back. Today, they have a manufacturing and installed capacity of nearly thirty thousand generators per annum. Cooper Corporation as tied up with some of the large generator manufacturing companies such as Caterpillar Inc., for the supply of generators besides also launching their own brand of generators in the 5 KVA to 500 KVA category. As one of the key
players in the generator and engine segment, the company exports their products to the
South east Asian countries, the Middle East and Africa, Russia and Ukraine and other parts of
Europe. As one of the largest employment generators in this area, Cooper Corporation employs
3,000 employees at its manufacturing units in Satara. The R&D facility of the company bears the
testimony of the Cooper’s commitment to constant innovation and integration of advanced
manufacturing processes into their system.
Fine Technology and robust growth
Cooper Corporation has always been on the forefront of contemporary technology, integrating
the most modern technology into their systems from time to time. As one of the key players in
the engine manufacturing segment, the company is among the first in India to get approval
from the Automotive Research Association of India, the ARAI to develop a series of gas
generators in the range of 10 KVA to 250 KVA. This has enabled the organization to stand by
its commitment to clean energy and delivering products that are in tune with the green
energy regulations. Cooper Corporation has now added Natural Gas/LPG variants of
generators along with the existing portfolio of diesel generators that not only comply with the
new regulations but are also in line with the global emission norms such as the Euro IV, US
EPA, Tier IV interim and CPCB-2 norms. In doing so, they have ushered in an era of clean
back-up and Prime Power in the country. With a strong distribution chain of over 80 dealers
nationwide and over 200 touch points, prompt after-sales service is possible.
Powered by innovative technology
From cost-effective products to silent technology engines, designing and product development
for engines is often a long-drawn process that can take up to three years to see fructification.
Cooper Corporation’s R&D team in association with Ricardo, UK is instrumental in bringing in a
new range of engines that are fuel efficient and are known for dynamic designs. The collaboratio
n of the two companies has introduced a new range of diesel-powered generators called ECOP
ACK that is equipped with the Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDi) technology. These
generators are fitted with the indigenously developed four-stroke liquid cooled gas engines
that are known for performance efficiency and high fuel efficiency. This range of generators is
the most cost-effective option currently available due significantly low lube oil consumption and
unmatched fuel efficiency.
Today, the word Cooper Corporation is associated with excellence in manufacturing, integration
of modern technology and a team of exceptionally committed workforce. The generators are
used for powering homes to industrial units, marine sector, infrastructure and agricultural
applications. Since 70% of the engines used in Cooper generators are indigenously manufacture
d and built from the scratch at the company’s facility, careful planning and attention for detail
is given right from the stage of planning a design till the execution of orders. Needless to
mention, each product is tested individually for its engine compatibility, fuel efficiency and for
performance. With demand from global quarters, Cooper Corporation has expanded its
horizon and broadening its reachability to other countries as well. With business from engines
contributing to 15% of the total turnover of the company, generator sales taking off in a big
way, the company hopes to achieve greater milestones in the years to come.
